The opportunity

At EY Design Studio, the Digital Experience Strategy Senior is part of a team responsible for the cultivation, development, articulation, and ongoing management of digital experience design strategy. What that means is that client engagement is your superpower, and you can straddle and collaborate with the design and technology research teams and can own and deliver product and digital experience discovery.

Facilitation, guiding client vision, and creating clarity throughout the engagement is a huge part of the gig. You love seeing the game board and gathering all the right information to make the right moves. You modulate your communication to ensure clarity and resonance with your audience at every level. You are big picture but can dive deep in the weeds to get things done.

The EY Design Studio works with the worlds leading organizations to build digital experiences, software, services, products that impact literally millions of people in Canada and billions of people, globally. There's a good chance that our work exists on you home screen, or part of your daily activities.  We are cross disciplinary, and you will work with Service Designers, Researchers, UX Designers, UI Designers, Engineers, Technologists, Content producers, writers, Content Strategists from ideation into discovery and all the way through to deployment.

  • Lead early-stage experience design activities (ie. assess feasibility, viability, desirability of a digital experience concept)
  • Develop the experience discovery plan and execute that plan.
  • Maintain positive relationships with our clients by always focusing on value identification
  • Lead an engagement team by creating clarity and vision and ensuring discovery and production cadence.
  • Assist and support the strategic objectives of the EY Design Studio broader business
  • Match up project activities, workshop outcomes, workshop exercises, as well as later stage design and development work delivers the experience that achieves client's objectives and goals.
  • Build our knowledge of processes, tools and methodologies by sharing what you know with other Experience Design Strategy teammates through workshop, presentation, and other channels of sharing information

Skills and attributes for success

This role requires strong attention to detail, in-depth knowledge of multi-channel media and marketing solutions, critical thinking, and analytical skills. You are responsible for analyzing data, building documentation, and supporting the Client and Creative teams.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • 2+ years experience shaping and delivering digital experiences and products
  • Experience working through several stages of product exploration, definition, and validation. You've facilitated Pre-Discovery, Discovery, and production workshops to generate alignment and strategy.
  • Experience working successfully with cross functional teams
  • Led a product discovery (ie. research, analysis, concepting, validation, and prototyping) engagement on behalf of a client

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience using modern business and design frameworks and methodologies (Value Proposition Design, Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Jobs-To-Be-Done, etc.)
  • Contribute to the design, development, or project management clarity through collaborative working sessions
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to drive consensus and build strong client relationships
  • A flexible, driven, highly organized and self-starter personality
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative and constantly changing workplace where ambiguity is as abundant as the pings from teammates on chat.
  • Experience with design and innovation focused client engagements
  • Strong commitment to take ownership, accountability, and make impact while delivering on a vision.
