Rob earned his BA in Cognitive Science from Vassar College, and both his MA and PhD in Human Factors Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. With more than two decades of experience in digital and physical product usability and design research, Rob has an in-depth understanding of how to improve the connection between people and systems. He has defined and enriched many types of applications over the years, from mobile apps to complex financial systems to medical devices to aircraft cockpit displays. He currently manages multidisciplinary research, design and development project teams. Rob has presented to leading industry organizations including the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society, User Experience Professionals Association, and the Design Management Institute. He has written for FastCompany.com and Design Bureau (among other sites and publications), and appeared on Bloomberg TV. His interest areas include user-interface design patents and the implications of artificial intelligence on the practice of user-experience design.
